Olivier Paesbrugghe — Application Architect at ECS

By day I work as an application architect at ECS, where the job is mostly the unglamorous part of the craft: making sure a design still makes sense three teams and two years later.

Devminds is where I build my own things. Two of them are live products with paying customers — which means I don't get to hand a design over and walk away. I write the migrations, own the deploy, and get the phone call when a ticket shop is under load twenty minutes before a match. That tends to keep an architect honest about which abstractions actually earn their keep.

Ticketing built for indoor sports

A multi-tenant ticketing platform for volleyball and basketball clubs. Seat maps and season subscriptions, a point of sale for the desk at the door, scanning that keeps working when the venue Wi-Fi doesn't, and a shop each club runs under its own name and domain.

Knack Volley Roeselare sells its tickets on Ticketminds — one of the top clubs in Belgian volleyball. Full houses, season subscriptions, and a queue at the door that doesn't get to wait.
